For me, it's a privilege to be with you, providing continuous caring, sensitive and knowledgeable support during this exciting and challenging time in your life.
I'm a Mum of five and a Grandma.
I decided to become a doula after supporting my friend's home-birth of her second son. It was a profoundly healing experience for her, after a traumatic first birth.
For me, it was an epiphany!

My 25+ years experience as a journalist brings expertise in sourcing accurate information, objectivity, and great people skills!
My Services
Birthing Guidance
Get extra personal support throughout the entirety of your birthing journey. As your Doula, I offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during, and after your birth. I during your pregnancy we stay in close contact in order to know how you’re doing and offer support or information you need.
Postpartum Support
From our initial meeting all the way through your pregnancy and delivery, I take the time to get to know you, your concerns and your needs. I’m always available to contact by phone/email throughout and will provide everything you require to make sure your experience is as calm and positive as possible.

"I wasn't really sure what a doula could do for me. In the end I was immensely glad of Cate's help before and during the birth.
I found her very hands on and practical in terms of reducing my pain during labour. This included massage and pouring warm water over my back when I was in the bath - it really helped! Later when the contractions were getting quite strong, she helped me move and sway which reduced the pain to about a third of what it was when I was still. The whole time she was encouraging me.
Cate also assisted in the lead up to the birth. She helped my husband and me to talk through our plans and hopes, and attended appointments with me to discuss my birth preferences with medical staff.
